No, I haven’t gone mad! This bowl is specifically for fruit, so I thought the holes not only give a striking look, but also serve a purpose, as they allow air to circulate more freely, so keeping fruit fresher for longer.
This has been thrown on the wheel in stoneware clay. I then cut the holes by hand with a knife once the clay is leatherhard. Glazed with a semi-matte cream coloured glaze outside and in, with a striking pool of shiny turquoise in the centre bottom of the bowl.
